About this Plan

The City of Kettering Comprehensive Plan has not been updated since 2002. The current plan guided the community for the past 22 years, and this next Comprehensive Plan provides a clear path for the City's next chapter. The Kettering Comprehensive Plan allows the city to collaborate with residents, stakeholders, and city leadership to create its next chapter. Creating the next chapter for Kettering requires a bold, long-term vision.

This Plan expands upon the City’s Strategic Plan, Spark Kettering, which identified a bold vision focusing on services, economic opportunity, engaged and active lifestyle, livability, and sustainability. This planning process engages Kettering residents once more to build on the community-driven vision, and provide a roadmap for future decision-making.

The Comprehensive Plan is the broad, key policy guide for City Council, boards and commissions, and staff as they evaluate land use, development, redevelopment, and infrastructure decisions. This includes direction on character, location, and extension of public investments and private development proposals in the City of Kettering.
